Manager Bob Melvin suggested Saturday that Zobrist may begin his rehab assignment either Tuesday or Wednesday, and he could rejoin the team for the next homestand beginning May 25, Joe Stiglich of CSN California reports. If Zobrist returns May 25 as Melvin suggests, it would slate his return for the early end of the initial 4-to-6 week timetable. When he does rejoin the club, it's quite possible he'll be shifted back to the infield to take over at second base.
