Lowrie (foot) will undergo season-ending surgery to remove a bunion from his left foot, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
EDGE Analysis
Lowrie, out since August 4, will see his season come to an end after feeling significant pain for several weeks. The 32-year-old finishes with a .263 average, two home runs, and just 27 RBI in 87 games played. Lowrie's production at the plate has steadily declined over the past few seasons, but his defensive skill set has not receded. Expect him to return to the Oakland starting lineup next season. For now, Max Muncy will presume the starting role at second base.
