Loney (finger) will start a rehab assignment with High-A Charlotte on Tuesday, serving as DH, Roger Mooney of the Tampa Tribune reports. Loney will likely get a couple of starts at first base before rejoining the Rays, but prior reports suggested he could still be back this weekend. Tampa has gotten minimal production from its first basemen in Loney's absence, and he should return to a regular role.
