Liriano struck out nine and walked two while giving up three runs on three hits over five innings in a no-decision Tuesday against the Cubs. He needed 97 pitches to get through five frames, throwing a first-pitch strike to 12 of the 22 batters he faced. While he fared better in each of his first two starts this season, Liriano is picking up right where he left off in the second half of 2014, posting a 23:6 K:BB through 18 innings. He's scheduled to face the D-backs at Chase Field on Sunday in his next start.
