Liriano (head) was taken to the hospital via ambulance Friday for further examination, Stefan Stevenson of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports.

Liriano left Friday's ALDS matchup in the eighth inning after getting hit in the back of the head by a Carlos Gomez line drive, and it seems like the injury sustained has some severity to it.
