Lincecum (hip) threw a simulated game Monday and will have one more before embarking on a rehab assignment in Salt Lake, Bill Shaikin of the Los Angeles Times reports.

Given the duration of his absence from a big league rotation, it's reasonable to think that Lincecum will require several starts in the Pacific Coast League before he's completely stretched out and ready to help the Angels' injury-ravaged rotation in the coming weeks.
