Kennedy took the loss Sunday, giving up three earned runs on seven hits while striking out four over six innings against the Cardinals. He did not walk a batter. The 30-year-old gave up another home run, this time to rookie outfielder Tommy Pham, his sixth homer allowed in his last five outings and 18th on the year (fifth-most in NL) . Even with all of those balls finding the bleachers, the Padres' starter has been largely successful of late, pitching to a 2.31 ERA in six June outings. Kennedy will take his 4.84 ERA into Arlington to face the Rangers in his next start.
