Kelly (forearm) could pitch out of the bullpen when he returns to Boston, the Boston Globe reports. "I think at some point there's an option to come back in that role," manager John Farrell said. "But we haven't said that there's an X number of starts before we would alter his path. But he's got bullpen experience at the major-league level." Discussions were underway prior to Kelly getting hit in the arm by a line drive in Wednesday night's game. Kelly, who is down a Triple-A Pawtucket working on his fastball location, has allowed five runs and nine hits in 13 innings.
