Johnson signed a minor league contract with the Nationals on Monday, Chris Cotillo of MLB Daily Dish reports. Johnson was granted his unconditional release from the Marlins earlier Monday, and has already found a new home. With Denard Span expected to begin the season on the disabled list, Johnson could be a candidate for a roster spot. However, the Nats traded for Matt den Dekker on Monday as well, likely making him the favorite for the reserve outfield spot. However, Johnson will be available should other outfielders suffer an injury.
