Jeff Francis yielded three runs over five innings Thursday in a loss to the Padres. Francis, the 26th man for the doubleheader, gave up five hits (including a home run) and no walks while striking out four batters. It was a decent start, but the Reds just couldn't get much going against Tyson Ross and the Padres' bullpen.
