Jackson gave up four runs in two innings in his first start of the spring Monday. Jackson was sharp in the first inning, needing only eight pitches to set the Padres down in order. However, in the second inning, the Padres batted around, with Jackson making a key error on a comebacker and then giving up two home runs. Though there's still plenty of time to make up ground, Jackson has to be considered a long shot to win the fifth starter job in Chicago.
