Hernandez (9-3) gave up eight runs on five hits and two walks while getting just one out in a loss to Houston on Friday. The Astros recorded more home runs than outs against the former Cy Young Award winner, and Hernandez has now given up at least seven runs in two of his last three outings. Although his recent numbers look anything but royal, Friday was only the third game all season in which King Felix has allowed more than three earned runs. The Mariners ace rebounded with wins in his next start in both previous such instances, so he should be able to put Friday's clunker behind him Wednesday against the Giants.
