Hanson made his first start of 2015 at High-A San Jose on Monday, striking out eight while allowing just two hits and a walk over five scoreless innings. His fastball sat between 89 and 91 mph, going as high as 94, reports San Jose play-by-play man Joe Ritzo. The Giants signed Hanson to a minor league deal a month ago, but this was his first appearance in game action. The dominant work means it's likely Hanson -- once one of the most appealing young pitchers in the game -- will get moved up to a higher level soon as he tries to make his way back to the majors.
