Goforth was designated for assignment in late November, and this seals his fate as he'll head to the minors to continue acting as organizational bullpen depth. He does have some big league experience to his credit, but the right-hander's numbers in the majors have been nothing to call home about, which will likely limit his ceiling to that of a middle reliever.
