Gee (0-1) lost his first start of 2016, allowing three runs on six hits over 5.1 innings against the Braves. He also struck out five and walked three.
EDGE Analysis
The 30-year-old has appeared in seven other games as a reliever although he did pitch 5.1 in his last appearance after Chris Young was ineffective against the Yankees. With the help of a double play and caught stealing, Gee was able to hold the Braves off the scoreboard through five innings, but he allowed five of the six batters he faced in the sixth to reach base. The only out he recorded in that frame was on a sacrifice bunt. Gee, who is replacing the injured Young in the rotation, is scheduled to make his next start Friday against the White Sox.
