Garcia (shoulder) threw five innings (54 pitches) in a simulated game Thursday and all went well, MLB.com's Jenifer Langosch reports. He will throw again on Tuesday and could go on a rehab assignment in the near future. With Adam Wainwright out for the season, Garcia has a shot at getting a chance in the Cardinals' rotation at some point this season. Tim Cooney will start in Wainwright's place Thursday and Marco Gonzales will likely get healthy before Garcia, but if Cooney and Gonzales struggle, Garcia could be next in line.
