Fister (7-3) allowed two runs on five hits and a walk with six strikeouts over 7.1 innings in a win Tuesday over the Cardinals.
EDGE Analysis
Fister was efficient, as he needed just 87 pitches to get into the eighth inning, partially thanks to 23 first-pitch strikes to 28 hitters. He did surrender two more home runs, however, and he has now allowed 11 this season. Fister struggled with home runs last season as well (1.2 HR/9), which was the main driver behind his poor 4.19 ERA. He has a 3.26 ERA in 2016 so far, but he doesn't have the strikeout rate (5.6 K/9) to maintain that level if he can't figure out how to keep the ball in the yard.
