Escobar will move to a utility role with Danny Santana named Minnesota's starting shortstop. He could also get spot starts in left field against tought left-handed pitchers, the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports. Escobar is having a strong spring by hitting .302 with three home runs, but it wasn't enough to overcome Minnesota's plans to move Santana back to shortstop. It sounds like Escobar could get somewhat regular at-bats off the bench. There's also a chance he's traded early in the season as there have been reports other teams have asked the Twins about his availability this spring.
