Escobar (hand) will not play Saturday against the Phillies, William Ladson of MLB.com reports. X-rays on Escobar's hand were negative after he was hit by a pitch in his first at-bat of Friday's game, but he is said to be dealing with significant swelling. It sounds like manager Matt Williams has ruled him out as an option off the bench Saturday, and it's at least possible the Nats could opt to hold Escobar out through Monday's off day.
