Derrick Goold of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports that the Cardinals have made an offer to Kelly Shoppach. Shoppach opted out of his minor league deal with the Nats Wednesday and could catch on with the Cards for depth while Yadier Molina is out. He's batted .196/.293/.346 with three homers in 35 games at the big league level this season.
