Darren Wolfson of 1500 ESPN reports that the Twins are close to a contract extension with right-hander Jared Burton. The dollar amount isn't yet known, but the extension is expected to run through 2014 and include a club option for 2015. Burton, who is currently due to hit free agency next offseason, posted a 2.18 ERA and 55/16 K/BB ratio over 64 appearances in 2012.
