Crawford continued his breakout season Friday, going 2-for-4 with his 33rd RBI and third stolen base of the season in the win over the Braves. Surprisingly, Crawford has been far better against left-handed pitching (.417/.488/.722) that he has against righties (.269/.345/.438). There are a couple of red flags when looking at Crawford's underlying numbers. His BABIP is currently .352, which is more than 50 points higher than his career average. Also, his 14.0 HR/FB ratio is an extreme outlier. It's not inconceivable that he has simply developed into a well-polished hitter at age 28, but the numbers indicate there will be a slight regression as the season carries on. Regardless, owners should continue to enjoy the ride as Crawford has been the best shortstop in fantasy so far this season.
