EDGE Analysis
The right-hander looked to start the last month of the season on the right foot in his first outing since giving up six runs (four earned) and five walks in Philly on August 14, but he showed us much of the same, unravelling in a five-run third as he loaded the bases and surrendered two hard-hit balls -- a bases-clearing double to Welington Castillo, followed by a two-run Jake Lamb bomb -- to put the game out of reach. He'll have a chance to get back on track, taking his 3.94 ERA into his next start against San Diego.
