Cain (forearm) is at least a week away from playing catch, Alex Pavlovic of CSN Bay Area reports. The three-time All-Star remains shut down from throwing due to a flexor tendon strain, and it's beginning to look like he won't make it back before the end of the season's first month. Once Cain is cleared to throw, he will have to gradually increase the distance of his long toss before eventually progressing to bullpen sessions and ultimately a rehab assignment.
