Cabrera has reached an agreement with the Rays, pending a physical, Ken Rosenthal of Fox Sports reports. Cabrera split last season between the Indians and Nationals, hitting a combined .241/.307/.387 with 61 RBI and 14 home runs. The two-time All-Star selection has proven capable of playing multiple infield positions and could see many of his innings at second base, where he played with the Nationals after coming over from Cleveland. Cabrera's numbers at the plate have been down over the past couple of years, but he won a Silver Slugger in 2011, hitting .273 with 25 home runs and 92 RBI, so he certainly has some upside.
