Byrd went 0-for-4 with three strikeouts in Friday's loss to the Cardinals. The Reds had hoped that they would get some approximation of what Byrd has done the last two seasons, but so far he's been awful, hitting only .132/.132/.158. So far he's been no improvement over the man he replaced, Ryan Ludwick.
