Brewers GM Gord Ash said Tuesday that Gennett (hand) should be ready to return from the DL after the minimum 15 days, Todd Rosiak of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports. Stitches were required to close a cut on Gennett's knuckles, suffered in a shower accident Sunday, leading to his placement on the 15-day DL. The Brewers think he'll be ready to return May 5 when first eligible, but in the meantime, they will have to lean heavily on Hector Gomez and Elian Herrera at second base.
