The Toronto Blue Jays released outfielder Ezequiel Carrera, a move that shouldn't be surprising considering he was optioned to Triple-A Buffalo earlier in March. Carrera had been a mainstay coming off of Toronto's bench since 2015, amassing a .267/.336/.380 (.716 OPS) slash line with 17 home runs, 112 runs scored, 69 RBI and 19 stolen bases across 827 plate appearances.
