Benoit is experiencing some renewed discomfort in his right shoulder and will be sidelined for at least a few days, Jeff Sanders of the San Diego Union-Tribune reports. The Padres have decided to shut down Benoit until the inflammation in his shoulder subsides, but there's no specific timetable for when that may occur. Benoit was sidelined for 11 days with the sore shoulder earlier this month, but returned last Sunday to record two saves within a three-game span. With the 37-year-old facing an uncertain return date, the Padres will likely turn to Kevin Quackenbush as their closer for as long as Benoit remains sidelined.
