Bauer (4-2) allowed just one run on five hits and a walk and struck out 10 over 7.2 innings in a win Monday over the Mariners.
EDGE Analysis
Bauer is finding a groove of late, as he now has three consecutive quality starts with a solid 20:6 K:BB in 20.2 innings over that span. The electricity that enticed talent evaluators in his early career is starting to show up. He induced 14 swinging strikes in Monday's win and now has three starts with at least as many whiffs in his past six outings. Bauer's 22 walks in 61.1 innings (3.2 BB/9) still leaves him on the wild side, but it would be the best mark of his career, and given his sharp arsenal, that might be just enough control to give him a chance to succeed.
