Angels signed OF Brennan Boesch to a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training. Boesch batted .275/.302/.529 with three homers over 23 games for the Yankees last season and then failed to catch on elsewhere after being released in July. The 28-year-old was productive at times in the past for the Tigers but could be facing an uphill battle to crack the Angels' Opening Day roster.
