Adams (quad) will miss significant time with his injury and could require surgery, Derrick Goold of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports. The Cardinals are still determining the grade of Adams' quad injury, but he is facing an absence well beyond the minimum 15 days, and would likely miss several months if it is determined he will need to go under the knife. Mark Reynolds will take over at first base initially, but the Cardinals may try to go in a different direction once the severity of Adams' injury is revealed.
