The Diamondbacks later re-signed him to a restructured minor-league deal in order to oversee his recovery from the injury, and it appears the veteran outfielder is finally easing back to full strength. According to Nick Piecoro and Sarah McLellan of The Arizona Republic, manager Torey Lovullo said Blanco would need about 20-to-40 at-bats in the minors before the Diamondbacks would consider purchasing his contract and adding him to the 40-man roster. Reserves Chris Herrmann or Jeremy Hazelbaker would seemingly be most at risk of losing their spots on the active roster if Blanco ends up joining the big club later in May.
