Braves placed RHP Gavin Floyd on the 15-day disabled list with a fracture of the olecranon in his right elbow. Floyd suffered the fracture while throwing his last pitch of Thursday's start against the Nationals. The Braves have yet to offer a timetable for the right-hander's return, but there's certainly a good possibility that his season is over. Ryan Buchter has taken his spot on the roster, but Alex Wood will be up next week when Floyd's rotation spot comes up.

Gavin Floyd has been diagnosed with a fracture of the olecranon in his right elbow. It's not clear how Floyd suffered the injury, but it's no surprise that the ailment is serious given how much swelling he had. The righty will be re-evaluated on Friday before the Braves determined how much time he might miss, but obviously he'll be placed on the disabled list. Alex Wood figures to replace him in the rotation next week.

Gavin Floyd left Thursday's start versus the Nationals with posterior swelling in his right elbow. Floyd threw one pitch in the seventh inning before exiting with a noticeable knot on his pitching elbow. The best-case scenario is probably bursitis, but the Braves are obviously hoping the ligament isn't involved. Even if he gets good news, a trip to the disabled list would seem likely. Floyd was making his ninth start since recovering from Tommy John surgery.

Gavin Floyd left Thursday's start against the Nationals with a possible elbow injury. The Braves' trainer came out to check on Floyd after he threw his first pitch of the seventh inning. The righty was having his elbow looked at before walking off the field. Obviously, it's a bad sign given that Floyd was making his ninth start since returning from Tommy John surgery. He had spun six scoreless frames before exiting. We probably won't know much about his status until after the game.

Gavin Floyd surrendered four earned runs in 6 1/3 innings Saturday in a no-decision against the Angels. Floyd earned his first win since undergoing Tommy John surgery Monday at Coors Field, but he didn't quite have it on Saturday night against the Angels. He yielded seven hits -- including homers to Mike Trout and Albert Pujols -- as Anaheim grabbed the extra-innings victory. Floyd will try to bounce back next week against the Nationals. He has a cool 2.98 ERA on the year.

Gavin Floyd finally earned his first win since Tommy John surgery after pitching 6 2/3 innings of one-run ball against the Rockies at Coors Field on Monday. Corey Dickerson's seventh-inning homer was the only damage. Floyd entered with a fine 2.80 ERA in six starts, but he had an 0-2 record anyway, even though the Braves were 3-3 in his outings. He's hasn't allowed more than three earned runs in any of his seven starts. Since he also went winless in five starts prior to surgery last year, the win tonight was his first since Oct. 3, 2012.

Gavin Floyd gave up 10 hits in his five innings of work Tuesday, allowing five runs -- three earned -- in a no-decision against the Mariners. Floyd walked one while striking out four. He's made six starts since coming off the disabled list, and Tuesday's was the first in which he's allowed more than four runs. The right-hander has a 2.80 ERA, 1.47 WHIP and 31/9 K/BB ratio over 35 1/3 innings this year. He gets the Diamondbacks in Arizona on Sunday.

Gavin Floyd continued to impress Friday, allowing two runs in 6 2/3 innings in a no-decision against the Rockies. Floyd scattered seven hits while walking none and striking out seven. The only damage against him was an RBI ground out by Jordan Pacheco in the second inning and a solo homer by Michael Cuddyer in the sixth. The 31-year-old has a 2.49 ERA and 24/5 K/BB ratio in 25 1/3 innings since coming off the disabled list and should be on the mixed league radar.

Gavin Floyd labored through 5 1/3 innings Sunday, allowing four runs -- one earned -- on seven hits and three walks before escaping with a no-decision in a 6-5 win over the Cardinals. Peter Bourjos reached base after a strikeout with two outs in the second inning, which is why three of the runs were unearned. Still, Floyd was sloppy in this one, needing 95 pitches to record 16 outs. He has a deceiving 2.41 so far but will be a shaky fantasy option next week against the Rockies.

Gavin Floyd gave up four runs -- three earned -- on seven hits over 6 1/3 innings in a loss against the Giants on Monday. Braves manager Fredi Gonzalez may have made a mistake in sending Floyd out for the seventh inning in a 1-1 game. Three runs later and the game was over. Gonzalez elected to keep Floyd in the rotation in lieu of going to a six-man operation, and it's obvious that the right-hander will be asked to earn his keep going forward. So far, so good. In two starts since his return from Tommy John surgery, Floyd (2.70 ERA) has allowed only four earned runs total. The veteran takes on the Cardinals on Sunday.
