Brewers optioned RHP Donovan Hand to Triple-A Nashville. Hand has appeared in 20 games for the Brewers this season, making seven starts and 13 appearances out of the bullpen. He has done a decent job overall, compiling a 3.83 ERA and 30/16 K/BB ratio in his 56 1/3 innings. He'll serve as additional depth at the Triple-A level and could again be called upon the next time the Brewers need a starter.

Donovan Hand was charged with four runs on seven hits and four walks over five innings of work in Thursday's loss to the Giants. The big blow came in the first inning, when Brandon Belt took Hand deep for a three-run shot. Hand has mostly pitched well for the Brew Crew this year, holding a 3.93 ERA and 1.33 WHIP. However, with Marco Estrada back and Yovani Gallardo slated to return next week, his time in the rotation isn't long. In fact, with an off day next Monday, Milwaukee could go ahead and send him back to the bullpen now.

Donovan Hand yielded three earned runs in seven innings Saturday in the Brewers' loss to the Nationals. Hand yielded a run-scoring sac fly to Anthony Rendon in the second inning, a Wilson Ramos homer in the fifth inning and a solo shot to Adam LaRoche in the sixth inning. And the Brewers offense provided him with no run support. Hand is now 0-3 on the season.

Donovan Hand gave up three runs over six innings in Sunday's loss to the Rockies. He allowed eight hits, no walks, and was removed at 79 pitches. Hand barely made it out of the sixth inning after giving up two home runs, but managed to finish with a quality start. With Marco Estrada likely still two weeks away from returning, he'll remain in the starting rotation for now. His next start is scheduled for Friday against the Nationals.

Donovan Hand (hand) is expected to make his next scheduled start on Sunday in Colorado. Hand had to leave Tuesday's start against the Padres after four innings with a right hand contusion following a hit by pitch, but he's fine. "I don't see anything holding me back," Hand said. "From this morning when I woke up to now, it's already made progress. Just keep progressing every day and see where I'm at at the end of it."

Donovan Hand left Tuesday's start against the Padres after four innings with a right hand contusion. Hand was hit on the hand by a pitch in the third inning. He stayed in to pitch another frame, but the Brewers eventually thought better of it and pulled him. The good news is that he's considered day-to-day and seems likely to be ready for his next start. Hand allowed two runs on seven hits and a walk before exiting.

Donovan Hand will start next Tuesday against the Padres. Hand has made three spot starts this season and will re-enter the rotation after Johnny Hellweg and others failed to grab hold of a spot. "I like Donny and what he's done as a starter," said Brewers manager Ron Roenicke. "I also really like him in our bullpen, so that's a hard one for me because I see a lot of value with him in our bullpen. I think he can give you one inning, he can give you three innings. I'm really confident in him coming in and throwing strikes. He knows how to pitch and change speeds. I really like this guy."

Donovan Hand surrendered three earned runs in five innings Thursday as the Brewers fell to the Nationals. The shine is beginning to wear off the 27-year-old righty, who got off to a hot start after his late-May promotion but has looked much more mediocre of late. Hand yielded six Washington hits and issued three walks. He's not a good fantasy option next week vs. the Reds.

Donovan Hand allowed two earned runs in five innings Saturday as the Brewers lost to the Pirates. Hand did not allow a walk and fanned two, but he gave up solo home runs to Pedro Alvarez and Garrett Jones. The 27-year-old right-hander has an impressive 2.63 ERA and 1.04 WHIP over his first 24 major league innings, but those rate stats do not seem sustainable. He isn't a great fantasy bet next week in the nation's capital.

Donovan Hand threw 4 2/3 scoreless innings in the Brewers' win over the Braves on Saturday. It was an impressive spot start from the young right-hander, who had been used strictly as a reliever in both the minors and majors this year. Hand yielded only two hits and a walk, fanning three. He could get another try in the Milwaukee starting rotation soon.
