German did not factor into the decision Sunday, allowing two runs (one earned) on one hit and three walks over six innings in a 7-4 loss to the Cubs. He struck out nine.
EDGE Analysis
German turned in a quality start Sunday, allowing just one hit while pitching into the sixth inning for the second time in his last five appearances. German enters the All-Star break on a high note, owning a 1.40 ERA and a 23:3 K:BB across his last three outings (19.1 innings). However, fantasy managers should proceed with caution with the 30-year-old, as he carried a 5.10 ERA and a 69:25 K:BB on the year prior to his three recent starts.

German allowed three runs (two earned) on nine hits and no walks while striking out five batters over 4.1 innings in a no-decision against Baltimore on Monday.
EDGE Analysis
In his first start since tossing the 24th perfect game in MLB history last Wednesday, German gave up a season-high nine hits. Only one of those (a double) went for extra bases, but the Orioles generated constant enough traffic to make German labor, and the right-hander exited with 86 pitches on his ledger following back-to-back Baltimore singles with one out in the fifth frame. Though the brilliance of German's perfecto will understandably linger for some time, fantasy managers should note that the hurler has otherwise struggled of late, failing to complete five innings in three of his past four starts and posting an 8.20 ERA (even including the perfect game) over 18.2 innings during that span.

German (5-5) threw the 24th perfect game in major-league history Wednesday versus the Athletics. He struck out nine.
EDGE Analysis
After back-to-back awful starts versus the Red Sox and the Mariners, in which he allowed 17 runs (15 earned) over just 5.1 innings, German responded with the pinnacle of his career. The right-hander was also pretty efficient, throwing 99 pitches (72 strikes) to complete the rare feat. This was the first perfect game in the majors since Felix Hernandez's on Aug. 15, 2012. German joins Don Larsen, David Wells and David Cone as Yankees to throw perfect games. For the season, German now owns a 4.54 ERA, 1.05 WHIP and 78:25 K:BB over 81.1 innings across 15 starts. His encore is tentatively scheduled for a home game versus the Orioles next week.

German (4-5) took the loss against Seattle on Thursday, allowing 10 runs (eight earned) on eight hits and two walks while striking out four batters over 3.1 innings.
EDGE Analysis
German was pounded almost immediately by the Mariners, who put up four runs on four hits against him in the first inning. Things didn't get better for the right-hander from there, as Seattle went on to put up six more runs against him -- four via solo homers -- before he was mercifully pulled with one out in the fourth. This was the second consecutive disastrous performance for German, who has yielded 17 runs (15 earned) over 5.1 frames across his past two starts. The rough stretch has inflated his ERA from 3.49 to 5.10, and German may need to turn things around soon to hold onto a rotation spot with Carlos Rodon (back/forearm) nearing his season debut, Clarke Schmidt pitching well and Nestor Cortes (shoulder) resuming a throwing program.

German (4-4) took the loss Friday, allowing seven runs on seven hits and two walks over two innings in a 15-5 loss against the Red Sox. He struck out one.
EDGE Analysis
German held Boston to just one run across six innings during his last start, but the Red Sox got to him early and often Friday. The seven earned runs were a season-worst mark for the right-hander, who now holds a 4.30 ERA over 13 appearances (69 innings). His 1.09 WHIP and 65:23 K:BB suggest German has ran into a bit of bad luck, but the issue appears to be his consistency, as he hasn't been able to string together more than two quality starts in a row before succumbing to a blowup outing like Friday.

German (4-3) allowed a run on six hits and two walks while striking out five over six innings to earn the win Saturday over the Red Sox.
EDGE Analysis
German limited the damage to a Rafael Devers solo home run in the sixth inning. While German has given up a homer in each of his last three starts, he's been able to cover 19 innings while allowing just six runs in that span. The right-hander has a solid 3.49 ERA with a 0.99 WHIP and 64:21 K:BB through 67 innings over 12 starts this season, emerging as a reliable innings-eater. He's lined up for a rematch with the Red Sox in Boston next week.

German allowed one run on four hits and a walk over 6.2 innings Sunday. He struck out six and did not factor in the decision.
EDGE Analysis
German rolled through six shutout frames before coughing up a solo homer to J.D. Martinez in the seventh inning. Over his last six starts, German has allowed two or fewer runs in five of them, lowering his season ERA to 3.69 through 61 innings. He's allowed a homer in two straight starts after not giving one up in four consecutive outings. The 30-year-old is currently projected to face the Red Sox at home in his next start.

German improved to 3-3 in Monday's 10-4 win over the Mariners, allowing four runs on seven hits and three walks over 6.1 innings. He struck out four.
EDGE Analysis
German was making his first start since May 16 after completing a 10-game ban for using a foreign substance on the mound. With 53 strikeouts, German is already on the verge of surpassing last season's total of 58, and he's boasting an elite 0.98 WHIP. German is tentatively slated to face the Dodgers on the road in his next start.

The Yankees reinstated German (suspension) from the restricted list Sunday.
EDGE Analysis
New York cleared a spot on the 26-man active roster for German by optioning right-hander Randy Vasquez to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre following Saturday's 3-2 win over the Padres in 10 innings. Now that he's completed his 10-game suspension, German is slated to move back into the rotation Monday to start the Yankees' series opener in Seattle.

German (suspension) is slated to rejoin the Yankees' rotation on Monday in Seattle, manager Aaron Boone told the Talkin' Yanks podcast Tuesday.
EDGE Analysis
German is eligible to return from his foreign substance suspension Sunday but will instead be back a day after that as the Yankees begin a road trip. The right-hander will be pitching on 12 days' rest against the Mariners.
