Fowler went 3-for-5 with an RBI double and run in Saturday's 10-4 loss to the Cardinals.

EDGE Analysis

The leadoff man brought home Jorge Soler with a two-bagger in the second, his fourth RBI over his last five games. Fowler has also hit safely in four of those contests, with three multi-hit efforts. The 30-year-old is now slashing a solid .275/.388/.450 over 69 at-bats this season.

Fowler went 2-for-4 with a solo homer and three runs in Wednesday's win over the Reds.

EDGE Analysis

After slumping through much of August and early September, Fowler's found himself again recently -- over his last 11 games, he's gone 14-for-40 (.350) with three homers and a steal. Like the Cubs' other regulars, he could see a few more rest days down the stretch, but appears to once again be a strong fantasy play when he's in the lineup.

Fowler filled up the stat sheet in Tuesday's win against the Reds, going 2-for-3 with two walks, a stolen base, an RBI and two runs in the victory.

EDGE Analysis

Although the outfielder is not running as rampant on the bases this year compared to previous campaigns, Fowler's stolen base on Tuesday gave him double-digit swipes for the eighth straight season. Despite being on pace for reductions in runs and hits compared to 2015, Fowler's .272/.386/.438 slash line is a nice improvement from last year's .250/.345/.411.

Fowler went 1-for-3 with a walk in Saturday's 2-1 loss to the Astros.

EDGE Analysis

The veteran leadoff man joined Wilson Contreras as the only two Cubs players to reach base more than once on a day when a combination of Colin McHugh and the Astros bullpen stymied their offense. Despite the modest success Saturday, Fowler's bat has gone cold so far in September, with just five hits in 31 at-bats, including an 0-for-18 stretch earlier in the month.

Fowler is not in the lineup Monday against the Brewers.

EDGE Analysis

After starting the previous five games, Fowler will get the day off as the Cubs go with Jason Heyward in center field. He'll be flanked by Jorge Soler in left and Kris Bryant in right. Expect to see Fowler back in the lineup for Game 2 of the series Tuesday night.

Fowler went 1-for-3 with an RBI single and walk in Friday's 2-1 victory over the Giants.

EDGE Analysis

The veteran outfielder's run-scoring hit brought home David Ross in the third, providing the Cubs with their second and final run of the game. Fowler has hit safely in three straight and is 3-for-7 over his first two games of September. He's had a nice bounce-back year at the plate after hitting a career-low .250 last season, slashing .279/.391/.445 with 22 doubles, five triples, 10 homers, 40 RBI and nine stolen bases over 373 at-bats.

Fowler is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Pirates.

EDGE Analysis

Matt Szczur will get the start in center field Tuesday while Fowler gets an off day. Fowler played all 13 innings of Monday's win over Pittsburgh, collecting three hits in seven at-bats to raise his season average up to .277. He figures to rejoin the lineup Wednesday following his off day.

Fowler is out of the lineup Thursday against the Brewers.

EDGE Analysis

It has been a rough second half for Fowler, as he is hitting .250/.374/.375 since the All-Star break after hitting .290/.398/.483 in the first half. That on-base percentage should keep him in the lineup most days, but his lack of power of late has opened the door for him to get the occassional day off. Matt Szczur will get the start in center field and lead off Thursday.
