Rasmus (hernia) could begin a rehab assignment as early as next week, Jeff Fletcher of the Orange County Register reports. Rasmus has already been throwing off a mound, so a rehab outing is simply the next logical step. Once that happens, he'll likely remain in the minors for several weeks, in what would essentially replicate a normal spring training period.

Rasmus (hernia) is expected to begin throwing off a mound later this week, Mike DiGiovanna of the Los Angeles Times reports. Rasmus required surgery to address a hernia in spring training and has yet to pitch for an affiliate this season. His first appearance could come in the next few weeks, as he's been long-tossing from 120 feet and is now preparing to advance to the next phase of his rehab process. He'll likely require multiple bullpen sessions before being cleared to face hitters.

Rasmus (upper body) was moved to the 60-day DL on Wednesday. Rasmus was moved to the 60-day DL to open up a spot on the 40-man roster for the newly-acquired Gary Brown. He's on a six-to-eight week timetable currently, but the 60-day timetable would slate him closer to at least eight weeks.

Rasmus (core muscle surgery) has officially been placed on the 15-day DL. Rasmus is due back at some point in May. The Angels will use a few untested relievers like Drew Rucinski and Jose Alvarez with Rasmus out.

Rasmus has a core injury that will require surgery and will be out 6-8 weeks, Alden Gonzalez of MLB.com reports. As if the Angels didn't have enough uncertainty in the bullpen, they now lose Rasmus, who gave them 56.0 innings of 2.57 ERA ball in 2014. This will give one fringe-level reliever a big-league spot, but is likely inconsequential to fantasy owners.

Rasmus allowed two runs on three hits over three innings pitched in a loss to the Mariners in the final game of the season Sunday. He struck out three and walked one in the contest. Rasmus performed admirably in six starts this season after Garrett Richards suffered a season-ending knee injury, but hasn't pitched more than four innings in an outing, which may limit his usefulness as a starter in the postseason. He ends 2014 with a 2.57 ERA and 57 strikeouts in 56 innings.

Rasmus will not start Saturday against the Mariners, Alden Gonzalez of MLB.com reports. The decision was made to move C.J. Wilson up to Saturday, seemingly to line Wilson up to start Game 2 of the ALDS next Friday. Rasmus may end up just being moved back to Sunday, but the Angels officially list Sunday's starter at 'TBA', so it could be Wade LeBlanc.

Angels manager Mike Scioscia said that he "will consider" Ramsus for a postseason start, Mike DiGiovanna of the Los Angeles Times reports. Nothing is off the table, according to Scioscia, with Matt Shoemaker nursing an oblique injury and both C.J. Wilson and Hector Santiago struggling. In his four September starts, Rasmus has given up just three earned runs on seven hits and four walks, with 10 strikeouts over 13 innings. He threw a season-high 59 pitches his last time out, so any postseason start would be a tandem effort with the bullpen.

Rasmus pitched four scoreless innings on two hits and a walk while striking out three in the Angels' 2-1 loss to the Rangers on Sunday. It's his second straight scoreless outing. He's allowed three runs in Septembers in nine innings of work. The Angels have depended on Rasmus for anywhere from one inning to four in the last few months. His ERA sits at 2.38 for the year.

Rasmus allowed just one hit over four innings while striking out four against the Mariners on Wednesday. Rasmus had what may have been the best outing of his career Tuesday, but his lack of endurance cost him and the Angels, as he was was forced to give way to a bullpen that allowed 13 runs over the remaining five innings. Rasmus threw 43 pitches in the outing, and if he can continue to pitch well, he could be stretched out in his final two outings of the year, as Matt Shoemaker will miss his next start with an oblique strain.
