Morton (5-3) picked up the win Friday, giving up two runs on four hits and three walks over seven inning in a 12-2 rout of the Nationals. He struck out seven.
EDGE Analysis
Aside from a two-run blast by Juan Soto in the third inning, Morton was firmly in control, firing 69 of 105 pitches for strikes before exiting. The win was his first in over a month but the veteran right-hander has been pitching like an ace again recently, reeling off four quality starts in his last five trips to the mound and missing the fifth by only one out. Over that stretch, Morton has a 1.60 ERA, 0.77 WHIP and 42:8 K:BB through 33.2 innings.

Morton gave up a hit and a walk with no earned runs over seven innings in a 4-3 loss to the Reds on Sunday. Morton struck out 10 and did not factor into the decision.
EDGE Analysis
Morton was on the top of his game Sunday, and his seven innings of shutout ball mark the best start of his season. He retired the first 12 batters of the game and struck out the side in the third. Morton leaned effectively on his curveball to garner swings and misses on pitches out of the zone. The 38-year-old veteran had a weak start to the season, posting a 7.00 ERA in April, but his statistics appear to be normalizing closer towards his career averages. The veteran has a career 4.03 ERA in 1705.0 innings pitched. Look for Morton to start on Friday against the Nationals.

Morton didn't factor into the decision in Tuesday's 5-3 win over the Phillies, allowing two runs on seven hits and four walks over 5.2 innings. He struck out five.
EDGE Analysis
The veteran right-hander ran up his pitch count by tying his season high in free passes and fell one out short of his third straight quality start, exiting after 102 pitches (61 strikes) with Atlanta ahead 3-2. Morton was denied his fifth win of the year when Dylan Lee stumbled in the seventh, however. Morton wraps up a June resurgence that has seen him post a 3.52 ERA, 1.04 WHIP and 45:8 K:BB through 30.2 innings over his last five starts.

Morton allowed three hits over seven scoreless frames in Friday's loss to the Cubs. He struck out nine and did not factor in the decision.
EDGE Analysis
Morton coughed up just three singles but he also hit two batters. Still, he cruised through seven innings and was left with a no-decision as Atlanta was handed a 1-0 loss. He's registered a 29:4 K:BB over his last three starts, giving him a 75:26 mark on the year. Morton's ERA still sits at a disappointing 5.08 through 13 starts. He's expected to start at home against the Giants next week.

Morton allowed four runs on five hits and a walk with 12 strikeouts in six innings, taking a no-decision versus the Pirates on Saturday.
EDGE Analysis
Morton left the game with Atlanta trailing, but a seventh-inning rally got him off the hook. He gave up solo home runs to Bryan Reynolds and Daniel Vogelbach in the first inning and a pair of RBI doubles in the fifth to Reynolds and Ke'Bryan Hayes. While Morton has allowed four runs in each of his last four starts, this was the first time in nearly a month he's completed six innings. He has a 5.67 ERA, 1.48 WHIP and 66:26 K:BB in 60.1 innings overall across 12 starts. He's projected for a road start against the Cubs next week.

Morton (4-3) allowed four runs on six hits and three walks with eight strikeouts in five innings, earning the win over the Rockies on Sunday.
EDGE Analysis
Morton had the most trouble with Brendan Rodgers, who had a two-run double and a run in the first inning and a solo home run in the fifth. This was Morton's third straight start with four runs allowed, and he hasn't gone past five innings in any of those games. For the season, the veteran right-hander owns a 5.63 ERA, 1.53 WHIP and 54:25 K:BB in 54.1 innings across 11 starts. He's projected for an easier matchup at home versus the Pirates next weekend.

Morton allowed four runs on four hits and two walks with five strikeouts in five innings in a no-decision versus Arizona on Tuesday.
EDGE Analysis
Morton lasted long enough to qualify for the win, but Atlanta's bullpen couldn't maintain the lead. Christian Walker took him deep for a two-run home run in the first inning, and Arizona was able to scrape together two more runs that were charged to the starter in the sixth. Morton has only completed six innings once this season, posting a lackluster 5.47 ERA, 1.50 WHIP and 46:22 K:BB across 49.1 innings in 10 starts this year. He's projected to make his next start in Colorado this weekend, which is an unfavorable matchup.

Morton pitched 4.1 innings, giving up four runs on nine hits, a walk and hit-by-pitch while striking out four in Wednesday's win over the Phillies. He did not factor into the decision.
EDGE Analysis
Morton had a lot of trouble keeping the Phillies off the basepaths, allowing 11 batters to reach base while only registering 13 outs. He gave up a solo home run to Odubel Herrera in the second inning, another run in the fourth frame and surrendered two more in the following inning while only forcing one out. Morton came into Wednesday having only allowed four total runs over 16.1 frames in his prior three starts, watching his ERA jump from 4.95 to 5.28 following the difficult outing. The 38-year-old will look to get back on the right track when he toes the rubber next, tentatively lining up to take on the Diamondbacks on Monday.

Morton (3-3) picked up the win Friday, giving up three runs on seven hits and a walk over 5.1 innings in a 5-3 victory over the Marlins. He struck out five.
EDGE Analysis
The veteran right-hander started strong but faded late and fell two outs short of his second straight quality start, exiting after 87 pitches (61 strikes). Morton appears to have turned a corner after a rough April, and over his last three outings he sports a 2.20 ERA, 0.98 WHIP and 19:5 K:BB through 16.1 innings.

Morton didn't factor into the decision Saturday against San Diego despite allowing just one run on two hits and a walk while striking out nine batters in six frames.
EDGE Analysis
Morton had a disappointing start to the season, carrying a 5.65 ERA through his first six outings while failing to strike out more than five batters in a single start. He looked much more like himself Saturday and is now riding a streak of two straight strong performances, as he allowed just two hits in five scoreless innings in his previous start. The veteran righty will look to make it three good starts in a row next week in Miami.
