Barry Zito allowed one run on seven hits in four innings of a no-decision against the Reds on Wednesday. It was an odd start, as Zito wasn't getting hit hard but wasn't efficient enough to make it through five innings. On the night he gave up seven hits and a walk while striking out three. His record remains 4-6 and he's now winless in his last six starts. He'll try to end the drought Monday against the Mets.

Barry Zito was touched up for four runs in 5 1/3 innings Friday in a loss to the Rockies. Zito allowed 10 hits, including two home runs. The veteran southpaw entered Friday's start with an 11.28 ERA in five starts on the road this season, so this was actually an improvement by comparison. He shouldn't be trusted in fantasy leagues with another tough road matchup against the Reds on tap for next week.

Barry Zito tossed seven innings of one-run ball Saturday in the Giants' 2-1 win over the Marlins. It took 11 innings for the defending World Series champions to wrap up the victory. Zito was excellent over the first seven frames, scattering one double and five singles while racking up five strikeouts. He'll carry a 4.40 ERA and 1.56 WHIP into his next scheduled start against the Rockies (at Coors Field).

Barry Zito allowed four runs on seven hits and three walks over six frames in Wednesday's loss to the Blue Jays. Zito didn't strike out a batter and needed 101 pitches to cover the six innings. He allowed just one extra-base hit, and all four runs were scored in the fifth inning, but that was enough. Zito has just one win in his last eight starts and will take an underwhelming 4.06 ERA and 1.53 WHIP into Pittsburgh next week.

Barry Zito allowed eight runs -- five earned -- over 5 2/3 innings against the Blue Jays on Tuesday. Zito was undone by a six-run first inning that featured six singles and two Giants errors. On the evening, the Blue Jays registered 12 hits against the left-hander. Despite the rough night, Zito has still had a largely positive 2013 thus far. He'll battle the thin air in Colorado in his next start on Sunday.

Barry Zito pitched seven innings of one-run ball in a no-decision versus the Phillies on Wednesday. Zito left with a two-run lead, but that was blown by Sergio Romo in the ninth. It's the fifth time in seven starts this season that Zito has allowed one or no runs. All five of those starts have come at home, while his two poor performances came on the road. He'll face the Blue Jays in Toronto next time out, so you may want to bench him.

Barry Zito was charged with six runs -- one earned -- in 3 2/3 innings against the Padres on Saturday. Zito opened with three scoreless innings, but he just couldn't get that third out after an Andres Torres error got the Padres started in the fourth. It's his second positively awful outing of the year, even if it had no effect on his ERA at all. Of course, he's pitched 21 scoreless innings in the other three. We don't know what's next, but those who picked up Zito in mixed leagues should bail now and thank their lucky stars there wasn't more damage tonight.
