Alexi Casilla will get an MRI on his right knee Friday.
The Twins called Casilla's removal from Thursday's lineup precautionary, but if Casilla needs an MRI, it's possible it could be more than a day-to-day type injury. Joe Christensen of the Minneapolis Star-Tribune writes that GM Terry Ryan "continues to hope it's nothing serious." We'll update his status when more is known.

Alexi Casilla was scratched from Thursday's Grapefruit League lineup due to tightness in the back of his right knee.
The Twins are calling it precautionary, so he'll likely only need to miss a day or two. It doesn't sound like something which will impact his ability to be ready for Opening Day.

Leadoff man Alexi Casilla went 3-for-5 with a steal Sunday versus the Rays.
Casilla is penciled back in at second this year after opening last season as the Twins' shortstop. He'll probably bat at the bottom of the order, as the Twins intend to have newcomer Jamey Carroll hit second.

Twins and INF Alexi Casilla avoided arbitration by agreeing to a one-year, $1,382,500 contract.
Casilla requested a $1.75 million salary and was offered $1.065 million by the Twins when arbitration figures were exchanged last month, so he ultimately settled for a little under the midpoint. The 27-year-old .260/.322/.368 with two homers, 21 RBI, 15 stolen bases and a .691 OPS over 97 games with the Twins last season. He's expected to open the year as the team's starting second baseman.

Twins activated INF Alexi Casilla from the 60-day disabled list.
Casilla missed the better part of the second half due to hamstring issues, but he'll be fine after an offseason to recover. After a .260/.322/.368 batting line this season, his role in 2012 could be as a backup middle infielder.

Alexi Casilla's hamstring didn't feel at 100 percent when he tested it out with some running Tuesday.
He'll now almost surely be shut down for the season. The infielder has been nagged by a hamstring issue since late July, suffering a few setbacks along the way. If he is indeed finished, he'll conclude the year with a .260/.322/.368 batting line with two homers and 15 steals.

Alexi Casilla will test out his hamstring again with some running Tuesday.
Casilla said previously that he expects to be activated from the DL Tuesday, so we assume that will happen if he gets through the running session OK. The infielder has been nagged by a hamstring issue since late July.
