Molina (thumb) caught a bullpen session Thursday, MLB.com's Jenifer Langosch reports. It was the first time he donned the catcher's mitt since landing on the disabled list in mid-July. The team is optimistic he will meet the short end of the eight-to-12 week recovery timetable initially established for him, but it will be tough to get a true gauge of how well he's progressing until he takes part in more baseball-related activities.
