Manager Matt Williams quashed any speculation the Nationals would consider sending Harper to the minors, Mark Zuckerman of CSNwashington.com reports. "[Harper's] one of the guys on our team," Williams said Wednesday. "He's a very important part of our team. Just like everybody else is." Williams raised some eyebrows Wednesday morning when he entertained a question about Harper being sent to the minors in a radio interview, but he emphatically dispelled the idea later in the day. Harper is batting .214 since his return from a thumb injury, with just five extra-base hits in 98 at-bats, and the frustration showed Tuesday night when he spiked his helmet after flying out to the warning track.
