FOX Sports' Ken Rosenthal reports that a trade sending Jon Lester to the Orioles is "not close." Rosenthal didn't rule out something getting done, but it appears the two sides aren't as close to crossing the finish line as previously reported. MLB.com's Peter Gammons adds that the Red Sox still have "plenty" of alternatives if they're not able to work something out with the O's.
