Anthony Swarzak was superb in a spot start Wednesday, holding the Indians to one run on two hits and a walk while striking out three in a 3-1 victory. Swarzak, who was starting in place of Kyle Gibson (back) hadn't thrown more than 52 pitches in an outing this season, but he was able to get his pitch count up to 74 Wednesday. He lowered his ERA for the year to 4.10 with the fine showing. Swarzak will be unavailable for a few days before likely returning to a long relief role, though it's possible he's earned another start if Gibson doesn't recover as hoped.
