Jedd Gyorko (plantar fasciitis) has joined Triple-A El Paso to begin his minor league rehab assignment. Gyorko has been sidelined since June 4 due to the injury, but has finally begun making tangible progress in his recovery. He is likely to need a lengthy rehab assignment, but could be cleared to rejoin the Padres in early August.
