Brandon McCarthy improved to 3-10, allowing two runs over 5 2/3 innings as the D'Backs easily defeated the Pirates by a 10-2 margin on Thursday. McCarthy didn't have the benefit of much run support, as the D'Backs scored seven in the ninth. They did, however, kindly take the lead in the top of the sixth. McCarthy allowed eight hits and walked two while striking out six, earning his second consecutive win. Now with a 5.01 ERA, a 1.38 WHIP, and a 93/20 K/BB ratio, McCarthy will look to further improve his trade value in next week's start against the Marlins at home.
