Ryan Vogelsong pitched well but was stuck with a loss on Wednesday, allowing two runs over seven innings while striking out eight Cardinals in a 2-0 setback. Vogelsong limped out to a 5.40 ERA in April, had a superb May in which he went 3-1 with a 2.29 ERA, and then regressed in June to a 2-2 record and 5.08 ERA. He brought his good stuff to the park tonight, walking only one and holding St. Louis in the yard, but couldn't match Adam Wainwright. Despite Vogelsong's inconsistencies, he's collected a solid 3.86 ERA and 1.30 WHIP.
