Shelby Miller tossed 6 2/3 innings of one-run ball to help the Cardinals beat the Nationals on Saturday. Miller allowed an RBI double to Jayson Werth in the top of the first inning but quickly settled in after that, yielding just just four hits in all while striking out seven. He ran out of gas in the seventh inning and left with the bases loaded, but Randy Choate was able to take care of that threat. Miller has a 3.42 ERA and 60 strikeouts in 84 1/3 innings this season. A date with the Phillies next.
