David Phelps shut out the A's for 6 2/3 innings in the Yankees' 7-0 victory Friday. Phelps was coming off four straight losses, each one worse than the last, so this was a big outing for him. He's now pitched 13 scoreless innings lifetime against the A's, allowing just three hits. He gets another tough matchup next week against the Blue Jays.
